As your celebrate with your families, I ask you to consider how quickly things can change. Please consider if you might be able to help her out a bit.
My sister in law, Danika Bauer, had a stroke last year.
She was just 28 years old, and she has not been able to go back to work since. Things are tough for her, and she's trying to keep a life for her and her daughter (my niece, who is 13). The stroke has left her with a visual impairment, as well as strength issues and, of course, lots of medical costs.
Some of her former co-workers put on a benefit for her back in July. They got donations from companies for a silent auction, had gift certificates and baked goods for sale, raffles, and we had some great food, too. There was karaoke as well. A good time was had by all who attended.
I know times are tough, but if you can find a few dollars, even $2 or $3, she'd be grateful for your help. More is also good. Anything you can contribute would be very helpful. Her paypal is funnyblueelephant@yahoo.com (yes, she likes elephants :) ).
